where was that on your map/diagram? was that the helicopter shot from near the east side of that bridge?
odd how it not only appears out of thin air but it doesn't get any bigger as it gets closer. you know what else is odd? on the clips of the actual impact (where the plane just vanishes into the side) the explosion is delayed by an entire second. I guess no sparks were generated when it glided right thru the side of the tower. maybe that was one of the "mistakes were made" that pinch was referring to.

I was curious about the camera position on this shot as well. Possibily this is from the helicopter shot over the towers, right beneath the Manhattan annotation. I too find it very suspicious that this plane goes through its initial perspective change, appearing out of thin air, but never changes appears to change size again.
One possibility (if this video is infact real) for the delay apparent delay between impact and explosion might be the perspective this is shot from. When the plane disappears behind WTC1, it may still be a significant distance away, and begining its final turn into the tower.
But either way, I still cannot get past how this plane magically appears out of thin air! This clip gives a great, highlighted illustration of just that.

I think this camera position must be from a helicopter, given that the E.S.B. is the tallest bldg in central manhattan and this was taken from north of the E.S.B. near the top of the building-- so I placed the position of this camera as the far north helicopter camera, just below the manhattan label.

I must disagree Spooked. Being a lifelong New Yorker this looks to me as being shot from high up in 30 Rock. (Now the GE Bldg)

The upper deck/floors of 30 Rockefeller Plaza looks out about at that level of the Empire State Bldg.

Really Rob? I though the ESB was still the tallest thing in midtown.

But one other thing is that the camera is a bit wobbly, making me wonder if it is coming from a helicopter.

This top picture here suggests the ESB is still the tallest in midtown:

How tall is 30 Rock?

i think you misunderstood...i'm not claiming 30 rock is taller. because it's not. but it is very tall...and if your up one the roof or on one of the uppermost floors you'll be able look out onto the floor level on the ESB that can be seen in the video (70th floor roughly).

i believe 30 rock is a little over 70 stories tall..
