The Five Types of Music

1) music you like as soon as you hear it and you never get sick of hearing it

2) music you like as soon as you hear it and get tired of it after three or four listenings

3) music you like as soon as you hear it but it drives you insane after three or four listenings

4) music you dislike as soon as you hear it and never grow to like it

5) music you don't care for or are neutral about when you first hear it but it gets better and better every time you listen to it and you grow to love it over time

#1 is probably the most rare.

#2 is probably the most common.

#5 describes all the music I really love-- music I consider my all-time favorites.

#1 is hardly rare if you include opera (Bellini, Puccini), classical (Vivaldi to Shostakovich).

#5 "Learning to Fly", not really "love" but grows on you.
